KINDNESS

At the root of all of the problems in today's world is one thing - selfishness. Criminals desire stuff that they don't want to work for, so they steal. Crooked politians crave power and prestige, so they lie. People in relationships care more about themselves than their partners, so they cheat or treat the other person badly. And I could go on and on listing what is wrong with our world. However, instead of focusing on what the problems are, let's focus on the cure - Kindness. Do you realize that if we would just care more about others than we do about ourselves, most of the "problems" in today's world would go away. Someone once said; "Kindness is the language the deaf can hear, the blind can see, and the dumb can understand." Everytime we come in contact with another human being - we have a golden opportunity to show kindness.

A Life That Is True
One Christmas, William Booth wanted to send a message of encouragement to his staff and volunteers. He chose a message of one word - "Others!"

Co-Workers Are People Too!
The vast majority of problems in our work places today are because people have the greatest lack of respect and concern for other people.

It Really Works!
If you really want to reap the rewards of kindness, you must do things not expecting anything in return.

Pay It Foward
Many of us never stop and think about how many people there are out there who need our help.

A Lesson From Rudolph
If we really knew the "pain" we sometimes cause by our human selfish actions, we would think more carefully about the way we treat others.

Making A Difference
We can all make a difference, everytime we come in contact with another human being, we have that opportunity to show kindness.

One Moment Please, Everyone STOP! Sadly, the world in which we live today has become rampant with pride, selfishness, greed, glutony, and on I could go in completing an apt description.

THOUGHTS ABOUT KINDNESS

You can never do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

He who sees a need and waits to be asked for help is as unkind as if he had refused it.

- Anonymous

It was only a sunny smile, And little it cost in the giving. But like morning light, it scattered the night, and made the day worth living.

Forget each kindness that you do
The moment that you do it
Forget the praise that falls to you
The moment you have won it
Forget the slander that you hear
Before you can repeat it
Forget each slight, each spite, each sneer
Whenever you may meet it.

Remember every kindness done
To you, what'e'er its measure
Remember praise by others won
And pass it on with pleasure
Remember every promise made
And keep it to the letter
Remember those who lend you aid
And be a grateful debtor.
